During the 10th month of 2022, a total of 9,564 crimes were discovered as a result of the complex investigative measures carried out by law enforcement agencies in the field of combating drug addiction and illegal drug trafficking. 3181 of them were related to the illegal sale of narcotic drugs, 5902 were related to illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic drugs, 393 were related to illegal cultivation of narcotic plants, and 88 were related to other crimes of this category.
According to the discovered facts, 5 tons 062 kg 984,171 g and 32,918 pills of narcotic drugs and 2,514 pieces of psychotropic substances were confiscated from the illegal traffic, of which 2 tons 013 kg 364,252 g was heroin, 1 ton 858 kg 236,599 g was marijuana, 280 kg 269,535 g was opium, 28 kg 010,544 g was hashish, 260,95 g was cocaine, 143 kg of 153,193 g and 32,918 was pills of other drugs and 739 kg of 689,098 g and 2,514 was psychotropic substances. Also, during the specified period, 1 kg 808.8 g was powerful substances, 10 kg 037.6 g was toxic substances, 80096 pieces of hemp plants with narcotic properties were taken from illegal circulation.
Of the 80 citizens of foreign countries held responsible, 37 are from the Islamic Republic of Iran, 9 from Georgia, 11 from Turkey, 2 from Turkmenistan, 1 from Kyrgyzstan, 1 from Pakistan, 2 from Ukraine, 1 from the Maldives and 16 - was a citizen of Russia. A total of 1 ton 039 kg 711,593 g and 4178 pills of various types of narcotics and psychotropic substances, as well as 16759 pieces of hemp plants containing narcotics were taken from the citizens of foreign countries.
During the 10th month of 2022, 235 facts related to the smuggling of narcotics and psychotropic substances into the country were discovered by law enforcement agencies, and according to those facts, the total weight of illegal circulation was 2 tons 580 kg 051,668 g, and 35,540 was pills, 2,048 were capsules, 1470 g of MDA and 110 ml of different types of narcotics and psychotropic substances were removed.
In total, 324 of the detected crimes were committed in a group, and 1 ton of 870 kg 056,294 g and 9,548 pills of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were confiscated from illegal circulation.
During the reporting period, organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and with the participation of the representatives of the relevant institutions, 381,528 wild narcotic plants weighing 172 tons, 753 kg 608.85 g were identified and destroyed accordingly from an area of 532,683 hectares .
