An employee of the Working Group of the State Commission on fight against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of Drugs participated jointly with representatives of relevant state bodies at the 6th meeting of the European Union-Azerbaijan Cooperation Committee held in Brussels on 16-17 October.

   According to the agenda of the meeting, the implementation of the Action Plan of the State Program on fight against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors for 2013-2018, the strengthening the fight against illicit trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances and drug abuse in the country, the improvement of legislation in this area,anti-drug propaganda, the works done to prevent illegal drug trafficking and drug abuse through awareness-raising were informed in detail during the meetings.

    At the same time, the "Country Report" prepared in Azerbaijani and English in the field of drug control for 2016 has been submitted to the opposite side.

   It was also noted that as a result of the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories the 132 km of the southern part of the state border was under Armenian control. Also, the Armenians planted drugs, established special labs to process drugs and to sent to different countries.
