On June 13 of the current year the Working Group of the State Commission and the Yasamal District Executive Authority held an awareness event in connection with June 26 "Struggling Day against Drugs"of the United Nations.

 

  Head of Yasamal District Executive Authority Aziz Azizov, Chief of District Police Department, Deputy Head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit drug Trafficking, heads of district organizations, psychologists and teachers took part in the event. Representatives of the relevant state agencies made speeches on the subject, dwelling on the effects of drugs on the human body, the disaster caused by drug addiction, raising the attention of the district commission to the measures to be taken to prevent drug addiction, involving public figures and religious figures, municipalities, police agencies, education workers, labor collectives and recommendations on how to expand ties between the collectives and relevant commissions, ways how  AIDS and other terrible illnesses spread, and widespread discussions about the issues of interest to the event participants. Participants of the event had a look at the exhibition of paintings prepared by regional schoolchildren on drug addiction.

 

     At the end, the necessary visual aids prepared by the State Commission's Working Group were distributed to the participants.
