Illicit drug trafficking and drug addiction is one of the major problems that worry the world today. The countries of the world improve methods of combating drug trafficking and drug treatment.

Since restoration of the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, institutional and legislative measures have been implemented in accordance with the international standards on combating illicit drug trafficking and drug addiction as a result of state-building, political, economic, social and other reforms. Close cooperation with international organizations has been established.

According to the Declaration of the International Conference on Drugs, Azerbaijan will host the next conference of this influential organization in 2019. Acceptance of such a decision is very important for our country and shows the high level of partnership with international organizations.

Taking into account paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in order to ensure that the 36th International Conference on Drug Trafficking held in Baku on April 16-18, 2019, I decide:

1.Due to the organizing of the 36th International Conference on Drug Trafficking that will be held in Baku on 16-18 April, 2019,Organizing Committe has to be set up with the following membership:

2. The Organizing Committee, established under Part 1 of this Decree, shall draw up and implement an action plan on holding the 36th International Conference on Drug Trafficking in Baku on April 16-18, 2019.

3. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan have to resolve issues arising from this Order.
