A press conference was held within the XXXVI International Conference on Drug Enforcement.

    Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Commission on Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking Ali Hasanov made a speech at a press conference within the XXXVI International Conference on Drug Enforcement which started in Baku on April 15.

    Deputy Prime Minister stressed that last year the US Justice Department's Drug Enforcement Administration appealed to Azerbaijan to host an international conference in our country. The issue was addressed to President Ilham Aliyev. The head of the state, who has always paid attention to holding such events in Azerbaijan, gave an instruction on the organization of the conference in our country and the Organizing Committee was established by the order of the President. After that, a working group was set up by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers in order to prepare  the event.

    At the XXXVI International Conference on Drug Enforcement(IDEC), 432 delegates from 115 countries are participating. The event was attended by over 100 delegates from Azerbaijan. This conference, which is a reputable platform for combating drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking, offers an opportunity to share world experience, exchange information, and learn about the advanced technologies used in this fight.

    Deputy Prime Minister noted that along with  various state bodies, volunteers were also involved to the organization of the conference and he also mentioned that meetings with the youth and other events will be held within the Baku conference.
