The Working Group of the State Commission  on August, 29 of this year held  an event with the Executive Power of Shamkir and Tovuz districts in order to strengthen the  control over the implementation of the "State Program for 2019-2024 on Illicit Trafficking of Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors as well as Prevention of Drug Addiction" and to coordinate the work with relevant local authorities during its implementation.

   During the event, the Deputy Head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking and other employees spoke on the topic and provided detailed information on the harmful effects of drugs on society, on the public and health problems of the community.

    At the same time, relevant recommendations were given to increase awareness of district commissions on drug prevention and involvement of community members, priesthood in these activities, and expanding links between municipalities, police, education workers, labor collectives and relevant commissions.

   At the end of the event, the Working Group of the State Commission distributed memory booklets and warnings to participants in preventing non-medical use of drugs, identifying persons using drugs and psychotropic substances.
