An awareness-raising event was organized by the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission and the Khazar District Youth and Sports Department in Khazar district secondary school № 119 on February 18 of the current year in accordance with the State Program on Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors and Drug Addiction for 2019-2024.

  First, an exhibition of students' handicrafts depicting the effects of drug addiction on human health was viewed in the school lobby.

Representatives of the Working Group of the State Commission, the Main Department for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Department of Youth and Sports, the Baku Narcology Center, doctors and other representatives participated at the event and spoke around the topic.

  The speeches provided detailed information on the tragedies caused by drug addiction, the fight against illicit trafficking in psychoactive substances, the destructive effects of drugs on the human body, as well as the effective organization of leisure time of adolescents. Afterwards, extensive discussions were held on the issues of interest to the students.

  At the end, the participants were presented with the necessary propaganda materials on "Know the truth about drugs", "The truth about marijuana" and "The truth about psychotropic substances" prepared by the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission.
