The number of calls to the 802 hotline has increased

The number of incoming citizen appeals has increased after the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking regularly broadcasts social boards and videos on the activities of the "802 hotline" telephone service in metro stations, a number of streets and avenues, shopping centers, as well as through television channels and social networks.

During January-March of the current year, the hotline received 498 calls, of which 59 were related to drug trafficking, 190 were related to drug addiction treatment, and 249 were related to other issues. A total of 252 letters were sent to the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Republican Narcology Center of the Ministry of Health to take appropriate measures on these appeals.

Thus, in order to prevent the spread of drugs and drug addiction through the 802 hotline, the relevant criminal cases were initiated on the basis of information provided on drug trafficking, providing prompt liaison with relevant organizations and citizens and large quantities of drugs were seized from illicit trafficking, drug users were directed to treatment in specialized medical institutions on the basis of voluntary appeals, psychological support to families suffering from drug addiction and the necessary recommendations were given explaining the provisions of existing legislation.
