An educational event on "The role of youth in the fight against drugs" was held at the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy on April 21 of this year, jointly organized by the permanent working group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and the Sabail District Executive Power.

   Member of the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, President of the National NGO Forum Rauf Zeyni, Deputy Head of Sabail District Executive Power Eldar Agayev, Deputy Head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking Azerbaijan Tanriverdi Aydin Vice-rector of the Naval Academy Zahid Sharifov, employee of the Sabail District Police Office Emin Bagirzade, doctor-narcologist of the Baku Narcology Center Gunay Babayeva, employees of the Sabail District Administration, media representatives, teachers and students participated at the event.

   The event provided extensive information on the destructive effects of drugs and psychoactive substances on the human body, harm to society and human health and the social disasters they cause, risk factors for drug use, measures to combat drug addiction.

   At the end, the issues of interest to the participants were widely discussed. Necessary propaganda materials prepared by the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission were presented to the participants.
