The final stage of the basketball tournament was held on October 13 under the motto "Young people choose a healthy lifestyle" with the joint organization of the Yasamal district organization of the New Azerbaijan Party and the Yasamal district Youth and Sports Department according to the Joint Action Plan for 2022 signed by the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking, and "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company.
First, the National Anthem was played at the event, and the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with a minute"s silence.
Bakhtiyar Nabiyev, chairman of YAP Yasamal district organization, Zakiya Musayeva, deputy head of gender policy and youth work department of NAP Central Office, Huseyn Efendiyev, first deputy head of the Yasamal District Executive Power, Vilayat Valiyev, rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, Sabina Khasayeva, deputy of the Milli Majlis,Ragif Allahverdiyev, head of the national information sector of the Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Drugs, Shahin Verdiyev, a responsible employee of "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasts" Closed Joint Stock Company, and Ilham Safarov, head of the Yasamal District Youth and Sports Department made a speech at the event and said that propaganda work in the fight against drug addiction among young people should be strengthened. Mass sports events also serve this purpose. The main goal is to prevent harmful habits in our society, especially among young people.
It was noted that the organized basketball tournament is one of the series of events. It was reported that the teams of Baku State University, Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Baku Business University, Baku State Communication and Transport College, Baku Base Medical College № 2, and Azerbaijan State Pedagogical College participated in the tournament that started on October 12.
The teams of Baku State University and Azerbaijan Technical University tested their strength in the final stage of the basketball tournament held under the motto "Young people choose a healthy lifestyle". The team of Azerbaijan Technical University won in the final game, which took place in the conditions of an interesting sports competition.
At the end, the winners and all participants of the tournament were awarded.
It should be noted that a Joint Action Plan for 2022 was signed between the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party, "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company, and the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics in connection with the implementation of the "2019-2024 State Program on Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors and Combating Drug Addiction" approved by President Ilham Aliyev. Within the framework of the Action Plan, training of trainers, round tables, sports competitions, and cultural and mass events in this direction continue in order to carry out educational work in the field of drug addiction.
