An exhibition was held on the topic "Let"s say no to drug addiction!" at the Khatai Art Center.

  On December 6, an exhibition was held  on "Let"s say no to drug addiction" organized by the NAP Central Office, Khatai regional organization of the party and Khatai Art Center in accordance with the Joint Action Plan for 2022 signed by the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking, and "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company.

  Vugar Rahimzadeh, chairman of the NAP Khatai regional organization, speaking at the event held at the Khatai Art Center, said that drug addiction is a big problem for humanity. According to V. Rahimzadeh, who said that there is a systematic fight against drug addiction in our country, our society as a whole should actively participate in this fight. According to him, the purpose of organizing this exhibition is to convey the consequences of drug addiction especially to young people. It was brought to attention that about 100 paintings on this subject were presented to the Khatai regional organization of YAP by the students of the schools operating in Khatai region. 40 paintings were selected from them and exhibited. V. Rahimzade stressed the need to hold such events continuously.

   Zakiya Musayeva, Deputy Head of the Department of Gender Policy and Youth Work of the YAP Central Office, said that the fight against drug addiction and its prevention is not only an important issue, but also one of the most important factors in the development of healthy youth. According to him, educational measures should be strengthened so that young people stay away from such habits. The role that scientific, knowledgeable young people can play in helping other peers to move away from harmful habits is undeniable. From this point of view, the artworks presented by schoolchildren to this exhibition are educational in nature.

   Later, the Deputy Head of Khatai District Executive Power Etibar Ahmadov, the Deputy Head of the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics, Tanriverdi Aydinov and the Director of Khatai Art Center Zahid Avazov spoke at the event. It was stated that drug addiction is one of the most painful problems that cause great consequences for human life and humanity. Drug addiction, which is a terrible threat, knows no borders, it is global in nature. Therefore, the expansion of educational activities among teenagers and young people is a priority issue in the fight against this problem. As a result of decisive steps taken in this direction in our country, serious successes have been achieved in the fight against drug addiction. Currently, the "State Program for 2019-2024 on illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and fight against drug addiction" approved by the President of Azerbaijan is being implemented at a high level. In connection with the implementation of the State Program, a joint Action Plan for 2022 was signed between the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party, "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company, and the permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics. Within the framework of the Action Plan, round tables, sports competitions, cultural and mass events are being held in this direction in order to raise awareness in the field of combating drug addiction. Holding an art exhibition is one of the series of events in this style. The main goal of the event is to further strengthen the propaganda work related to the fight against drug addiction, which is a great problem for humanity, and to ensure the continuity of educational activities conducted among teenagers and young people for the sake of our healthy future.

   It should be noted that at the end of the event, certificates were presented to the schoolchildren who were the authors of the paintings.
