An event dedicated to the fight against drug addiction was held in Khazar region

 On February 17, an interactive training was held under the joint organization of the YAP Central Office and the Khazar region organization in accordance with the joint Action Plan for 2023 of the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company and the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking.

  First of all, the dear memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of our land from occupation, as well as those who died as a result of a natural disaster in our brother Turkey, was commemorated with a minute of silence.

  Opening the event held at the Khazar Youth House, Chairman of the NAP Khazar district organization, Namig Ahmadov, spoke about the importance of educational work in the fight against drug addiction.

  Zakiya Musayeva, Deputy Head of Gender Policy and Youth Work Department of NAP Central Office, said that the fight against drug addiction and its prevention is one of the most important factors in the development of healthy youth. In order for young people to stay away from such harmful habits, educational activities should be of a continuous nature. Recalling that 2023 was declared the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" in our country by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev, Z. Musayeva said that in accordance with the Plan of Events, joint events are planned within the framework of "Year of Heydar Aliyev". She noted that the great leader Heydar Aliyev always wanted to see the youth of Azerbaijan strong and healthy. Currently, President Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing the policy defined by the Great Leader in this direction.

  Elshan Gurbanov, the first deputy of the head of the Khazar region Executive Power, pointed out that drug trafficking and drug addiction are one of the problems that seriously concern the modern world, as well as a factor that poses a threat to people"s health, affects the  moral values of society, and has a negative impact on socio-economic development. According to him, the "State Program for 2019-2024 on Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors and Combating Drug Addiction" approved by President Ilham Aliyev is important in terms of systematically fighting this problem.

  Kanan Gubadzade, the chairman of the Public Union "Fighting Narcotics", said that the upbringing of healthy youth is important for every society. Therefore, everyone should be active in the fight against drug addiction.

Ruslan Hasanli, an employee of "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasts" CJSC, spoke about the importance of unity and solidarity in the fight against drug addiction. According to him, if the society shows high activity in this issue, the result will be more successful.

  Rovshan Karimli, a doctor-narcologist of the Republican Narcology Center of the Ministry of Health, spoke in detail about the consequences of drugs for human health. He urged the youth to stay away from this trouble.

  Then Shahin Ismayilov, the responsible employee of the permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics, spoke about the importance of young people avoiding this harmful habit. He noted that the state is taking necessary measures in this area.

  Hasan Aliyev, Chief Operations Officer of Khazar District Police Department"s Anti-Narcotics Unit, and Senior Lieutenant Hasan Aliyev, spoke about measures to combat drug addiction in the region.

  Vugar Aliyev, head of the Khazar region Youth and Sports Department, spoke about the role of young people in preventing this harmful habit.

  Then a short film was shown on "Let"s say "NO" to white death-narcotics" prepared by "Fighting Narcotics" Public Union! with the financial support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

  At the end, the questions of the event participants were answered.
