An enlightenment training dedicated to the fight against drug addiction and illegal drug trafficking was held  on March 28 of the current year with the participation of mentors and students of the Faculty of Engineering at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) according to paragraph 4.4.17 of the "2019-2024 State Program on the fight against illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and the fight against drug addiction".

 The dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Associate Professor Elchin Samadov, who opened the event with his opening speech, said that drug addiction, which has become a human scourge in modern times, is a global problem and causes concern all over the world. He emphasized the importance of expanding the scope of public education in this direction.

Shahin Ismayilov, chief advisor of the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking, who participated in the event, spoke about the implementation of preventive measures to protect against the use of drugs, the expansion of combat directions and the "802" call service. He completed his speech on anti-drug addiction by describing the consequences of drug addiction, physical and behavioral symptoms of users.

Then Ramin Allahverdiyev, a psychologist of the Republican Narcotics Center, gave recommendations to the mentors of the faculty for early detection and support of those in the risk group in order to work with young people.

At the end, students" questions on the relevant topic were answered and the necessary propaganda materials prepared by the Working Group of the State Commission end "Know the truth about narcotics", "The truth about marijuana" and "The truth about psychotropic substances" were distributed among the participants.
