An event was held on June 25 on the theme "Negative effects of harmful habits on the education and morale of the young generation" in connection with the Day of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the UN World Anti-Narcotics Day in Goygol district in accordance with the Joint Action Plan for 2024 of the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company and the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking.
First, the monument of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan, the National Leader of our people, was visited, and flowers were arranged in front of the monument. Later, the Heydar Aliyev Center was visited.
At the event held at the Goygol Youth House, the dear memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute"s silence. Then the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.
Vugar Isayev, chairman of the NAP Goygol district organization, Zakiya Musayeva, head of the gender policy and youth work department of the NAP Central Office, deputy head of the Goygol District Executive Power, head of the social-political and humanitarian affairs department, Kamala Ibrahimova, Chairperson of the Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking in Narcotics, Khalig Gurbanov, correspondent for the western region of "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint-Stock Company, Ragif Allahverdiyev, head of the National Information Sector of the State Commission for the Fight against Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics,Vusal Jabbarov, head of department of Sumgayit City Narcology Dispensary of the Ministry of Health, doctor-narcologist Vusal Jabbarov, and Faig Bayramov, a veteran of the Patriotic War, made a speech at the event.
The speakers said that our nation celebrates Armed Forces Day with great enthusiasm and pride. They emphasized that the Azerbaijani Army wrote a new and glorious annals of military history with the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of the President, Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar Ilham Aliyev. Today, our Army is stronger and more powerful than the army during the war, and it is able and ready to fulfill all the tasks.
In the speeches, it was stated that the fight against drug addiction is one of the necessary conditions for the formation of a healthy society. It was emphasized that drug addiction causes incurable complications in human life. For this reason, there is a systematic fight against drug addiction in Azerbaijan. According to the "2019-2024 State Program on Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors and Combating Drug Addiction", educational activities are also continuously carried out.
The event continued in an interactive form and the questions of the participants were answered.
At the end, the Anthem of the New Azerbaijan Party was played.
