On July 10 of the current year, an event on the topic "Analysis of the work carried out in the field of combating drug addiction in Sumgait city" was organized at the Heydar Aliyev Center with the joint organization of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking and Sumgait City Executive Power.

 First, the screening of the short film "Ampula" was presented to the attention of the event participants.

The Deputy Head of the Sumgayit City Executive Power, the Chairman of the Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Drugs, the Responsible Representative of the Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics, an employee of the General Anti-Narcotics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Republican Narcologist of the Ministry of Health Clinical-psychologist of the Center, representatives of Absheron-Khizi Regional Departments of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports, deputy city prosecutor, head of the city department of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, doctor-narcologist of the Narcological Dispensary, chairmen of the Council of Elders and Veterans, imam of the Friday Mosque , the deputy chairman of the Public Council under the Executive Power, deputy directors for training and education of general education schools, as well as teenagers and young people participated at the event.

 At the event, the risk factors of drug use, the negative effects of drug addiction on people"s lives and health, moral values and socio-economic development, increasing attention to the efficient organization of leisure time, adapting anti-narcotic propaganda to the requirements of the modern era, the legal basis of the fight against the consequences of drug addiction and other issues were discussed in detail as well as  information was given, and discussions were held on questions of interest to teenagers and young people.

 At the end, the booklet "Methodical recommendations for helping to identify persons who abuse narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances" prepared by the Permanent Working Group State Commission and other necessary visual aids were presented to the participants.
