This event was organized through the joint cooperation of SOCAR and relevant state agencies, aiming to educate security service employees responsible for protecting strategically important oil and gas industry facilities, as well as participants from other SOCAR structural divisions, about the consequences of drug addiction.
Tanriverdi Aydinov, deputy head of the permanent working group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics, gave a speech and gave detailed information about the important steps taken by our state in the field of combating drug addiction and the implemented measures. He also emphasized the importance of taking timely measures to eliminate drug addiction.
In his speech, Nadir Mammadov, head of the department of the General Anti-Narcotics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, drew attention to the expansion of the sale of drugs through social networks. He said that citizens of foreign countries communicate with Azerbaijani citizens through social networks and use them as "couriers" in the sale of drugs. Nadir Mammadov advised the event participants to be careful if foreign citizens they do not know try to contact them through social networks and other means. He emphasized that in such cases there may be attempts to involve those persons in the illegal circulation of narcotics and in such situations he touched on the importance of immediately informing the relevant authorities.
Speaking at the event, the employee of the State Security Service said that the illegal circulation of drugs is a serious threat to our national security. Thus, the special services of unfriendly states know well the "weak points" of drug addicts and can use them as a tool for their insidious plans against the sovereignty of our state, calculated to disrupt the current stability in our country.
The head of SOCAR"s Security Department, Ilkin Rahimov, spoke at the event and expressed his gratitude to the invited guests from relevant state institutions for their valuable contributions to the event. In his speech, he emphasized that the rapid spread of narcotics and psychotropic substances in the country poses a serious threat to strategic objects. The head of the department said that additional security measures will be implemented to protect strategic objects in order to prevent this alarming situation. He also noted that the SOCAR family is always ready to support law enforcement agencies in the fight against drug addiction, and urged all event participants to be careful in this fight.
It should be noted that at the end of the event, the participants were distributed a manual of methodical recommendations prepared by the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking in order to help identify people who use drugs.
