On September 19, an event d "Healthy Future, Happy Society" was held in the Ismayilli region in accordance with the joint Action Plan for 2024 of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) Central Apparatus, the "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company, and the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for the Fight Against Drug Addiction and Illegal Drug Trafficking.
The event began with a visit to the monument of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state and the National Leader of our people, located in Ismayilli city, where flowers were laid at the monument.
The Azerbaijani National Anthem was played at the event held at the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center in Ismayilli. The memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan was respectfully commemorated.
Zaur Muradov, chairman of NAP Ismayilli district organization, Zakiya Musayeva, head of gender policy and youth work department of NAP Central Office, Eyyub Musayev, deputy head of the Ismayilli District Executive Power (DEP) for socio-economic issues,Chairman of the Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs under DEP, the head of the legal department, Pakiza Abbasova, the head of the National Information Sector of the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics, Ragif Allahverdiyev, and the department head of Sumgayit City Narcotic Dispensary of the Ministry of Health, doctor-narcologist Vusal Jabbarov spoke at the event.
The speakers emphasized the importance of awareness-raising in the fight against drug addiction and discussed the significance of propaganda efforts to protect youth from harmful habits. It was highlighted that the "State Program for the Fight Against the Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, and Their Precursors and Drug Addiction for 2019-2024," approved by President Ilham Aliyev, is crucial for systematic efforts to combat these issues.
It was noted that the fight against harmful habits is always relevant for a healthy society. In the modern era, protecting youth from harmful habits is a significant challenge. Young people should prioritize gaining knowledge and adopting a healthy lifestyle while being aware of the dangers and harms of drug addiction. The head of our state constantly focuses on the issues of comprehensive development of young people, their upbringing in a healthy spirit, based on national and moral values. It is gratifying that the youth of Azerbaijan showed high patriotism, bravery and heroism in the ranks of our glorious army in the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020 and in the one-day local anti-terrorist events in 2023.
