On September 20, a joint event d "Healthy Youth is the Guarantee of a Healthy Family" was held in the Zagatala region in accordance with the 2024 Action Plan of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Central Apparatus, the "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company, and the permanent working group of the State Commission for the Fight Against Drug Addiction and Illegal Drug Trafficking.
Initially, the monument to the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in Zagatala city was visited, and flowers were laid at the monument. The event, held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Zagatala, began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan was respectfully commemorated.
Farid Ramazanov, chairman of the NAP Zagatala district organization, Zakiya Musayeva, head of the Gender Policy and Youth Affairs Department of the YAP Central Apparatus, Tofiq Ahmadov, first deputy head of the Zagatala District Executive Power and chairman of the Commission for the Fight Against Drug Addiction and Illegal Drug Trafficking under the District Executive Power, Raqif Allahverdiyev, head of the National Information Sector of the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for the Fight Against Drug Addiction and Illegal Drug Trafficking, and Vusal Jabbarov, head of a department at the Sumgayit City Narcological Dispensary and a narcologist participated at the event.
In their speeches, they noted that one of the main global challenges today is the fight against drug addiction. A series of events are being held within the framework of the "State Program for the Fight Against the Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, and Their Precursors and Drug Addiction for 2019-2024," approved by President Ilham Aliyev. The main goal is to inform and educate the youth to contribute to ensuring a healthy future. It was emphasized that a healthy family is the foundation of a healthy society and a strong state, as well as a protector and transmitter of national and spiritual values. All institutions of society must be active and responsible in preserving these values.
It was highlighted that the progressive youth policy implemented in our country not only creates favorable conditions for the development of the younger generation and the realization of their knowledge and skills but also ensures their formation in a patriotic spirit. In this regard, the 44-day Patriotic War, which opened a magnificent page in our nation"s history, and the one-day local anti-terror operations demonstrated the patriotism and determination of our youth to the world. It was noted that, by the relevant decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev, September 20 will be celebrated annually as State Sovereignty Day. Last year, the anti-terror operations, which lasted only 23 hours and 43 minutes and concluded on September 20, were carried out with high professionalism by the valiant Azerbaijani Army, fulfilling all assigned tasks. Thus, as a result of the next brilliant victory, the sovereignty of our country has been fully ensured. Today, thanks to this glorious victory, the State Flag of Azerbaijan proudly waves in all territories where our sovereignty has been established.
