An event was held in Imishli on "Drug addiction is a source of danger for humanity" according to the Joint Action Plan for 2024 of the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company and the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking.

The participants of the event first visited the monument of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in Imishli and laid flowers in front of the monument.

At the event held at Heydar Aliyev Center of Imishli district, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played first. The dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with respect.

The chairman of NAP Imishli district organization, Safa Agayev, Head of gender policy and youth work department of NAP Central Office, Zakiya Musayeva, First deputy head of Imishli District Executive Authority , Chairman of the Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Means under the RIH, Mirza Guliyev, and Ragif Allahverdiyev, Head of the National Information Sector of the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, and doctor-narcologist Vusal Jabbarov, Head of department of Sumgayit City Narcotic Dispensary of the Ministry of Health, made a speech at the event.

It was stated that one of the most painful problems that concern mankind is drug addiction. Therefore, the fight against this problem has a global character. It was noted that today special attention is paid to the improvement of the normative and legal framework for the fight against drug addiction in our country, further strengthening of the activities of law enforcement agencies and expansion of international cooperation. In particular, it is important to further strengthen propaganda work in the fight against drug addiction among young people.

The questions of young people were answered at the interactive event.

The participants of the event were given visual resources prepared by the Working Group of the State Commission in order to promote the fight against drug addiction.

At the end, the Anthem of the New Azerbaijan Party was played.
