An event was held in the city of Gazakh on the theme "Our national and moral values ​​are the strongest weapon against the threat that knows no borders" on October 18, in accordance with the Joint Action Plan for 2024 of the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), the "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company and the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking.

The participants of the event first visited the monument of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the city of Gazakh and laid flowers in front of it.

The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played at the event held in the Culture Center of the Gazakh region. The dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with respect.

The chairman of NAP Gazakh regional organization Anar Nabiyev, head of Gender policy and youth work department of YAP Central Office Zakiya Musayeva, head of Gazakh regional executive authority Rajab Babashov, head of the National Information sector of the permanent working group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics were present at the event. Ragif Allahverdiyev and Department Head of Sumgayit Narcotics Dispensary of the Ministry of Health, doctor-narcologist Vusal Jabbarov made a speech.

It was noted that drug trafficking and drug addiction are one of the problems of serious concern in the modern world, as well as a factor that poses a threat to people"s health, affects the moral values ​​of society, and has a negative impact on socio-economic development. It was pointed out that many factors are important in fighting this problem."One of them is our national and moral values.It was emphasized that it is natural for the young generation loyal to our values ​​to stay away from such harmful habits".

In the speeches, the importance of the "2019-2024 State Program on Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors and Combating Drug Addiction" approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was brought into consideration in terms of systematic struggle with this problem.

Then the event continued in an interactive form, and the questions of young people were answered.

The participants of the event were given visual resources prepared by the Working Group of the State Commission in order to promote the fight against drug addiction.

The event ended with the singing of the National Anthem of the New Azerbaijan Party.
