On December 6, an event on the topic “Public health and safety: protect yourself and your surroundings from negative impacts!” was organized in Lankaran city within the framework of the “State Program for 2019-2024 on combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and drug addiction”in accordance with the Action Plan signed between the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit Trafficking in Narcotics, and “Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting” CJSC.

First, the monument to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was visited, and flowers were laid in front of the monument.The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played at the event, and the dear memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with respect.

The Chairman of the Lankaran district organization of the NAP Iqbal Amanullayev, the Head of the Gender Policy and Youth Affairs Department of the NAP Central Office Zakiya Musayeva, the First Deputy Head of the Lankaran City Executive Power, the Chairman of the Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics under the NAP Mikayil Jafarzade, the Head of the National Information Sector of the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission Ragif Allahverdiyev, and the Head of the Department of the Sumgayit City Narcology Dispensary of the Ministry of Health, a narcologist Vusal Jabbarov made a speech at the event.

The speeches emphasized the importance of educational work in the fight against drug addiction. The importance of protecting adolescents and young people from harmful habits, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and strengthening propaganda work was noted. It was noted that the “State Program for 2019-2024” approved by President Ilham Aliyev is of exceptional importance for conducting a systematic and purposeful fight against this problem.

At the same time, increasing the knowledge and skills of young people, increasing their interest in science, education and sports were emphasized as the main factors in keeping them away from harmful habits. It was noted that in modern times, the active participation of young people in public life is one of the main priorities of the state youth policy.

Visual aids prepared by the Working Group of the State Commission for the Promotion of the Fight against Drug Addiction were distributed to the participants of the event.

Then, membership cards were presented to those who had recently joined the ranks of the New Azerbaijan Party.

The event concluded with the playing of the Anthem of the New Azerbaijan Party.
