On November 2, 2011, Nizami Cinema Center hosted a public demonstration of the movie “Evil” which speaks of the tragedies that drug addiction has caused.
Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit Drug Trafficking Mr. Ali Hasanov, members of the Milli Majlis, members of the State Commission, responsible persons of relevant state bodies, chairmen of district commissions on Baku city, as well as representatives of public organizations participated in the event.
The film-spectacle which is mainly based on the awareness-raising tragedy of drug addiction, has been financially supported by the Council for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including the creative and technical staff of the Baku Children's Theater.
Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit Drug Trafficking Mr. Ali Hasanov, MP Fazil Mustafa making speech in the event highlighted the work done in the fight against drug addiction and illicit drug trafficking in Azerbaijan and talked about the importance of film-spectacle that has enlightenment character. The detailed report was made about the fight against drug addiction and illicit drug trafficking on the state level and the measures taken in this sphere.
Later, Mr. Ali Hasanov noted that our state has taken a decisive stand on the fight against drug trafficking. He noted that Great Leader Heydar Aliyev always attached great value to the youth and called them the future of our state and nation. As a result of the successful policy pursued by the President Ilham Aliyev and the First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, Azerbaijan has already been recognized worldwide and hosted by prestigious events and has reportedly increased the country's reputation.
Highly appreciated the work of the law enforcement agencies in the fight against drug trafficking, it was noted that every single member of society demonstrates an active civic position in this area.
Mr. Hasanov noted that close cooperation was established with international and regional organizations, borders and other states in the fight against illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and drug addiction. Thus, on November 19-23, 2018, the 53rd session of the UN Sub-Commission on Drug Trafficking and Related Issues in the Near and Middle East will be held in Baku.
Moreover, according to the Decision of the International Narcotics Confederation (IDEC), Azerbaijan has the right to host the next congress of this prestigious body in Baku on 16-18 April 2019. The adoption of such resolutions, which is of great importance for Azerbaijan is an indication of the high level of development of our country's partnership with international organizations.
In the end, Ali Hasanov emphasized that the state positively assessed the initiative of each state, public association, and citizen within the framework of the fight against drugs and was ready to do its best for their implementation.
After the speeches, the film "Evil", which has a clear vision of the tragedies caused by the drug addiction has been demonstrated.
Later, Mr. Ali Hasanov accepted the creative staff, actors and actresses who worked hard to make the film "Evil" and expressing his gratitude he gave his recommendations.
