An educational event was held at Khazar District Secondary School No. 123.

    On December 14, 2013 an awareness-raising event was organized by the Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Khazar District Executive Power and Khazar District Secondary School No. 123.

    First, a film about the tragedies caused by drugs was shown.

    The First Deputy Head of the Khazar District Executive Power, Deputy Head of the Working Group of the State Commission, Executive Officer of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Deputy Director of the Republican Narcology Center of the Ministry of Health, Officer of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children, Senior officials of the Baku City Education Department, as well as the Khazar District Police Department, the Prosecutor's Office, the State Security Service, and the Judiciary participated at the event and spoke on the topic.

     The speakers informed the participants about the negative effects of drugs on human life and health, moral values and socio-economic development as well as detailed information was provided on the legal framework for combating the consequences of drug addiction and other issues.

     The participants were also provided with detailed information on the prevention of drug-related crimes, as well as the devastating effects of drugs on the human body and the social evils they cause, the prevention of the spread of AIDS and a number of other terrible diseases. In particular, the importance of effective organization of leisure time, sports, art and community service was emphasized.

   Discussions around the reports were met with interest by teachers and students. At the event, experts answered students' questions about the fight against drugs.

   At the same time, the necessary propaganda materials prepared by the Working Group of the State Commission were distributed among the participants.
