An open tournament named "Let's say no to drug addiction for the sake of our future!" was held on arm wrestling at the Baku State Vocational Education Center for Techniques and Technologies with the joint organization of YAP Nizami district organization and Azerbaijan Arm Wrestling Federation In accordance with the Joint Action Plan for 2022 signed by the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party, the permanent working group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking, and "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company on June 22.
The participants of the event first visited the corner created to perpetuate the memory of the Center's graduates who were martyred in the 44-day Patriotic War.
At the opening ceremony of the tournament, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with a minute's silence.
Then, Rufiz Gonagov, head of the political analysis, education and election-related work department of the YAP Central Office, Zakiya Musayeva, deputy head of the gender policy and youth work department, Tanriverdi Aydinov, deputy head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics, said, Elnur Orujov, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department of Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Closed Joint Stock Company, Bahman Huseynov, Deputy Head of the Social-Political and Humanitarian Affairs Department of the Office of the Head of Nizami Regional Police, Bahman Huseynov, Secretary of the Nizami District Commission for Combating Drug Addiction, Elvin Aliyev, head of the anti-narcotics department of the Nizami District Police Department, President of the Azerbaijan Arm Wrestling Federation, Advisor to the President of the World Arm Wrestling Federation Jasarat Ahmadov, Chairman of the YAP Nizami District Organization Ramil Valibayov, Mahir Namazov, director of the Baku State Vocational Education Center for Techniques and and others made a speech at the event and said that a joint Action Plan for 2022 was signed between the YAP Central Office, "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company, and the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics in order to further strengthen the propaganda work related to the fight against drug addiction among young people, to implement educational measures in a systematic and connected manner. Within the framework of the Action Plan, it is planned to train trainers and in this direction, round tables, flash mobs, sports competitions, and cultural-mass events are planned to be held. The main goal is to prevent harmful habits in our society, especially among young people.
After the speeches, the tournament started. 150 athletes in 5 weight categories competed in the tournament.
Cash prizes, diplomas, medals and gifts of "IronMaxx-Azerbaijan" company were presented to the winners of the tournament, which took place in the conditions of intense competition.
