On April 16 of the current year, the process of destroying 3 tons, 430 kilograms, 62,700 pills of various types of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, as well as 58,860 hemp plants, confiscated by the decisions of the courts in the administrative territory of "Baku Oil Machinery Plant" LLC was carried out and the process was  organized by the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking in Narcotics.

Representatives of the General Prosecutor"s Office, the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the State Security Service, the State Customs Committee, the State Border Service and the Working Group of the State Commission, which are members of the Commission for the Destruction of confiscated narcotics, psychotropic substances and their precursors, participated in the process of destroying drugs.

In total, 1 ton 527 kg 101,231 g of heroin, 1 ton 372 kg  034,257 g of marijuana, 172 kg  565,992 g  opium, 93 kg  610,043 g  hashish, 145,697 g of cocaine and 60,596 pills of methadone 264 kg 712,789 g and 2104 pills of psychotropic substances of various types of drugs, psychotropic substances that  were ordered to be destroyed by 1741 court verdicts and also, 3,877 pills, 19,341 capsules, 24 vials, 4 ampoules, 81,446 grams of powerful substances were destroyed by burning with the participation of relevant organizations and mass media representatives.
